Our local hospital has an ongoing need for surgical caps for kids. Children scheduled for surgery get to choose a cap to wear for their surgery and then take home with them when they are discharged. The shop will have kits available, but you can use your own fabric too. Below is the pattern piece you will need to cut out the top of the cap. Please download it and print it out. Make sure your printer is set for "no scaling" and/or that it is printing at 100% and that the "fit to page" button is not checked. If you are having trouble printing the pattern, ask for a copy next time you are in the shop. Or if you can't make it to the shop, send a self addressed stamped envelope to the shop: Alamosa Quilt Company 710 Del Sol Dr. Alamosa, CO 81101 I will be happy to send you a copy of the pattern. Please make sure that you keep this original. I recommend tracing the pattern on to freezer paper. Or if you have freezer paper sheets (which we sell) that will go through your printer you can just print out a copy of the pattern. A freezer paper pattern will last through several caps and you can easily make more.

All of the kits I had are now gone, as of April 15, 2020. BUT the Dollar Tree in Alamosa has plenty more tablecloths available. Look for the plastic ones that are 54" by 108". A photo of the packages I had is below. You will need to purchase three of them to be able to make four gowns.
Instead of elastic, I am using t-shirt yarn. You can google the instructions yourself. There are plenty of good instructions and videos for making t-shirt yarn.
